Agreement
These terms are a contract between you and Veritywork. They apply when you create an account, use the website, or contribute to a project offered through the platform. By creating an account, you agree to them.
A project may add guidelines for that task: what to label, how quality is judged, and what may not leave the project. Those guidelines apply together with these terms. If they conflict on how a task must be done, the project guidelines control that task. These terms still control your account, confidentiality, and pay relationship with Veritywork.
The platform
Veritywork connects verified contributors with data annotation and evaluation projects. Typical work includes rating model outputs, labeling images or documents, extracting fields, and reviewing text in a domain you know. Client programs use that work to train, test, and improve AI systems.
We decide which projects are open, who is matched, and whether an account may continue. Project volume changes. A match is an invitation to review a project, not a promise of ongoing work or a particular income.
Eligibility
- You are at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, and you can enter a binding contract.
- You can legally perform remote project work from your location.
- The legal name and location on your profile match the government ID you will use for verification.
- You maintain one account. Shared, duplicate, or stand-in accounts are not allowed.
- You provide information that is accurate when you submit it and you update us if it changes.
Placeholder names, borrowed identities, and location details that do not match your ID make an application ineligible.
Your relationship with us
You contribute as an independent contractor, not as an employee, agent, or partner of Veritywork or of a client. These terms do not create employment benefits, tax withholding, or a set schedule. You choose whether to accept available work and you are responsible for your own equipment, workspace, and taxes.
Nothing on the platform authorizes you to speak for Veritywork or for a client, or to bind either of us to a commitment.
Verification
We review applications before anyone is matched to live projects. If an application is eligible, we send one identity verification link for that review cycle. You complete the check with our verification provider. We then confirm the result.
Completing the provider’s flow does not by itself approve the account. Projects stay unavailable until Veritywork marks the account verified. If we approve you, we may credit a one-time verification bonus to your wallet. The amount, if any, is shown in the product, and each account receives it at most once. If verification is not approved, the bonus is not paid.
Projects & quality
Matched projects show a description, an estimated time, and an estimated pay amount. Unless the project says you have been assigned the task, opening the page does not reserve the work or guarantee payment. Acceptance and payment follow the project’s quality rules.
When you contribute, you agree to:
- Read and follow the project guidelines, including category definitions and examples.
- Apply consistent judgment and the level of domain care the task requires.
- Submit work you completed yourself, in line with the instructions.
- Avoid tools the project does not allow, including generative models used to produce labels, ratings, or written judgments.
- Skip a task when you do not meet its qualifications or cannot follow the guidelines.
We and our clients may review samples, reject work that misses the guidelines, and withhold pay for work that is incomplete, duplicated, automated without permission, or not your own.
Confidentiality
Project content is confidential. That includes source files, prompts, model outputs, guidelines, gold examples, and anything else a project shows you that is not already public.
- Use project material only to complete the assigned task.
- Do not copy, screenshot, download, or store it for personal use, a portfolio, or another product.
- Do not publish it, discuss specific items in public channels, or share it with anyone who is not working that task with you under the same project rules.
- Do not use it to train or evaluate a model of your own, or to build a competing dataset.
These duties continue after a project ends and after your account closes. You may describe your own background and the general kind of work you do, without revealing client material or non-public project details.
Work product
You keep ownership of your pre-existing skills and of material you owned before a project. For labels, ratings, annotations, rankings, and other judgments you produce for a project, you assign to Veritywork and its client, as the project requires, all rights needed to use that work product. That use includes operating the project, measuring quality, and training, evaluating, and improving models and related systems.
You will not submit work that infringes someone else’s rights. Client source material remains the client’s. Nothing in a project gives you a license to reuse that material outside the task.
Pay
Estimated pay on a project is for the scope described there. Final credit depends on acceptance under the project’s quality rules. Approved earnings and any verification bonus appear in your wallet. Completed payouts reduce the balance.
- Payout methods, minimums, and any threshold for a method are shown on the wallet page and may be updated there.
- A payout request is a request for review. Funds are sent after Veritywork approves the request.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the payout details you enter.
- You are responsible for taxes, reporting, and any bank or network fees charged by your payout provider.
We may decline or reverse a credit that resulted from rejected work, a duplicate submission, or activity that breaks these terms. We may also delay a payout while we review a quality or fraud concern.
Acceptable use
You will not:
- Share an account, sell access, or attempt to pass verification for someone else.
- Misstate your identity, location, language, or qualifications.
- Use scripts, bots, or other automation to create accounts, scrape the platform, or submit work.
- Interfere with the site, probe it for weaknesses, or upload malware.
- Harass Veritywork staff, clients, or other contributors.
- Use another contributor’s work, or present generated output as your own judgment when the project requires a person.
Accounts
You are responsible for activity under your login. Keep your email and password private, and tell us if you believe someone else is using the account. We may suspend or close an account for a terms violation, quality failure, fraud risk, inactivity, or a legal requirement.
You may stop using Veritywork at any time. Closing an account does not erase confidentiality duties or records we must keep to finish a payout or meet a legal obligation. Approved wallet balances are handled under the payout rules then in effect, except where we are holding funds because of a terms or fraud review.
Disclaimers
The platform is provided as available. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, a minimum amount of work, or that every submission will be accepted. Project descriptions are for matching and planning; the guidelines inside a task control how that task is performed.
To the extent the law allows, Veritywork is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost profits, arising from your use of the platform or from client project decisions. Our total liability for a claim relating to the service is limited to the amount we paid you through the platform in the three months before the claim, or the amount of the disputed credit if that is higher. Some locations do not allow certain limits, and in those locations the limits apply only as far as the law permits.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page will change when we do. If a change is material, we will give notice in the product or by email when that is practical. Continuing to use the platform after the update takes effect means you accept the revised terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service and contact us about any remaining balance.
